The Anglo-Zulu war was fought in 1879 between the United Kingdom of Great Britain and the Zulus. Due to various reasons, the war was notable for several particularly bloody battles, as well as being a landmark in the timeline of imperialism in the region. The war marked the end of independent Zulu nation.
His last independent ruler, Cetshwayo, initiated the call Zulu War against the British, who were trying to expand in the area. The British colonial troops defeated him in the decisive battle of Ulundi, following which the territory became a British possession ending the independence of the Zulu nation.
